Product Overview

Toughened PA66 is an impact-modified nylon 66 with super-tough izod impact of 40–70 kJ/m² (>40 kJ/m² minimum), combining the heat resistance of nylon 66 with outstanding low-temperature impact performance. It is the material of choice where parts face repeated impacts, cold environments and heat, all at once.

Typical applications include automotive engine-bay components, refrigeration parts, power tools, safety components and pipe fittings. The compound keeps a tensile strength of 55–65 MPa and HDT of 70–80°C while absorbing energy that would crack standard nylon.

Jinsu produces toughened PA66 under ISO 9001 on twin-screw extrusion lines, with factory-direct pricing, free samples, low MOQ and worldwide shipping. Contact us for super-tough PA66 prices and technical guidance.

Applications in Detail

Automotive Engine Bay Components

Engine-bay clips, brackets, connectors and reservoirs face heat, vibration and impact. Toughened PA66 holds together under thermal cycling and mechanical shock where standard PA66 would crack, while keeping better heat resistance than PA6-based grades.

Refrigeration Parts & Pipe Fittings

Refrigerator components, quick couplings and pipe fittings must survive low temperatures without becoming brittle. The low-temperature toughness of our modified PA66 prevents cracking in cold service and during assembly.

Power Tools & Safety Components

Power tool bodies, guards and safety components are repeatedly impacted and exposed to heat from motors. Super-tough PA66 provides the durability and heat resistance these parts need for a long service life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes toughened PA66 'super tough'?

Impact modifiers dispersed in the nylon matrix absorb crack energy, delivering izod impact of 40–70 kJ/m² versus roughly 5–8 kJ/m² for standard PA66. The material bends and absorbs energy instead of shattering.

Toughened PA66 or toughened PA6?

Toughened PA66 offers higher heat resistance (HDT 70–80°C vs 60–70°C) and better long-term durability in hot environments. Toughened PA6 is more economical when service temperatures are moderate. We supply both and can recommend the best fit.

Can toughened PA66 be colored?

Yes — natural and black are standard, and custom colors are available. For safety components we can also supply grades with UV stabilizers and other additives on request.

What drying is required?

Dry at 80–100°C for 4–8 hours; moisture must be ≤0.1% before molding. Use the material within 24 hours of opening to avoid re-absorption.
