Storage & Handling
Glass-fiber reinforced toughened PA6 is highly hygroscopic — must be stored sealed in a dry environment. Moisture must be ≤ 0.1% after drying; a desiccant dryer is recommended.

Applications in Detail
Structural Power-Tool Parts
Structural power-tool parts must survive drops and being stepped on while staying stiff at screw bosses, snap fits and motor mounts. Fully toughened PA6 is too soft and creeps under bolt preload, while PA6+30GF is brittle under low-to-moderate temperature impact. B3G3XH's 15% glass gives enough boss and snap-fit strength, and its 15 kJ/m² notched impact covers drop tests from -10°C to ambient.
Refrigerator Drawer Slides
Slides are long, thin parts that live or die on dimensional stability: moisture swelling or uneven shrinkage makes drawers drag and rattle. B3G3XH shrinks only 0.4–0.9% and the glass phase holds the sliding gap in a cold cabinet, while the toughening phase keeps the edge from chipping when a drawer is overloaded or slammed shut. Run a mold temperature of 80–100°C for even crystallisation.
Ski Boots & Low-Temperature Structural Parts
Ski boot buckles, shell reinforcements and binding parts flex repeatedly below -20°C, and brittle fracture is the dominant failure mode. The glass phase keeps loaded areas from deforming, the toughener absorbs impact energy, and together they cut the low-temperature fracture risk. Dry below 0.1% before molding — moist material cracks more readily in the cold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can PA6+15GF toughened replace PA66+GF30?
In some cases, but not blindly. PA66+GF30 is stiffer and more heat resistant, with HDT often above 240°C, whereas B3G3XH is rated 180°C at 1.82 MPa. Where service temperature stays below 120°C and the priorities are drop resistance and dimensional stability, B3G3XH is more economical and tougher; near heat sources or for long-term heat resistance, stay with PA66.
Is 15% glass enough, and why not 30%?
More glass means more stiffness and heat resistance but lower notched impact and more visible fibre bloom. PA6 at 30% glass typically shows 12–15 kJ/m² notched impact and cracks more readily in large housings during drops. 15% is the balance point for parts that carry load and take impact, such as housings, slides and boot shells.
Does it need drying before molding?
Yes. PA6 is highly hygroscopic, and moisture above 0.1% causes silver streaks, exposed glass and lost impact strength. Dry at 100–120°C for 4–6 hours per the TDS with a desiccant dryer, and feed the material as soon as drying finishes.
