General Purpose ABS

ABS Resin

General-purpose ABS resin pellets for injection-molded appliance parts, electronic housings and consumer products. Select the grade according to surface gloss, impact strength, flow, color and processing requirements. The values below are selection references; request the TDS for your chosen grade before approval.

Free samples: 5–10 kg. Trial orders: minimum 25 kg. Regular production: minimum 1,000 kg. The customer pays shipping costs.

Jinsu has not completed UL Yellow Card certification. TDS data and UL94 test results do not constitute UL recognition. If your project requires a Yellow Card, verify certification for the exact grade before approval or purchase.

Typical values and performance ranges are provided for grade selection. Custom formulations can be adjusted to application requirements. Final properties follow the selected grade TDS and are not specification guarantees.

  • Selection reference only: these values do not represent specifications or new ISO test results for every general-purpose ABS grade. Confirm the actual grade TDS and testing basis before purchasing.
  • The reference sheet uses natural-color specimens and typical values; it does not report elongation at break.

Important Notes
  • Reference settings only; adjust them to the selected grade, part, injection machine and mold. The reference sheet recommends resin moisture below 0.1% before molding.
  • The reference sheet recommends keeping reused molding runners below 15% and as low as possible. This is guidance for customer molding scrap, not a statement that the supplied resin contains recycled feedstock. Validate any reuse for your application.

Storage & Handling

Recommended handling: keep pellets sealed in a dry, ventilated area away from heat and contamination. Follow the selected grade drying instructions and verify moisture before molding; the reference target is below 0.1%.

Product Overview

General-purpose ABS covers a family of injection-molding grades rather than a single resin code. Jinsu helps you select a grade for appliance parts, electronic and electrical housings, and everyday molded products. Start with the required surface finish, impact performance, flow, color and cost target. Jinsu also distributes grades including DG-417 from Tianjin Dagu and ZA0211 from Zhejiang Petrochemical.

The physical-property table above is a grade-selection reference, not a specification for every general-purpose ABS product. Its ISO entries identify the testing basis to request for your chosen grade; the values are not presented as new ISO test results. Confirm the actual grade TDS, test conditions and sample performance before purchasing.

For molding trials, use the processing window below as a starting reference and adjust it for the selected grade, machine, mold and part geometry. Contact us for grade selection, samples, current pricing and supply options.

Applications in Detail

Appliance Components

For covers, panels and other appliance parts, compare grades by gloss, flow and impact requirements. Validate the molded sample, surface finish and service conditions before final material approval.

Electronic & Electrical Housings

Match the grade to the housing dimensions, color and assembly requirements. General-purpose ABS is not automatically a V-0 material; request a flame-retardant grade when the application needs a defined flame rating.

General Molded Products

For consumer and everyday molded parts, specify the target appearance, impact performance, wall thickness and production cycle. Use samples to confirm the balance of processing and finished-part performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this page cover only one ABS grade?

No. This page covers general-purpose ABS grades. The table is a selection reference, while the chosen grade determines the final properties, color, processing window and supply terms. Send your requirements to request a suitable grade and its TDS.

How should general-purpose ABS be dried?

The reference window is 75-85°C for 2-4 hours. The supplied reference sheet recommends reducing resin moisture below 0.1% before molding. Confirm the drying instructions for your chosen grade and storage conditions.

Is general-purpose ABS flame retardant?

Do not assume so. The supplied general-purpose reference sheet lists UL94 HB at 1.5 mm, not V-0. If your project requires V-0 or another rating, request a flame-retardant ABS grade and confirm the exact thickness and color.

Are the reference values guaranteed for every grade?

No. The values are references for selection, not guaranteed specifications for all general-purpose ABS grades. The source sheet uses natural-color specimens and typical values. Confirm the current TDS, test basis and sample results for the grade you intend to buy.
