Flame Retardant ABS
ABS Resin
Flame-retardant ABS for industrial parts, electronic and electrical appliances, and battery housings. The SA FR reference grade combines medium flow with good impact performance and crack-resistant screw bosses. Its published flame rating is UL94 V-0 at 2.0 mm; confirm the chosen color and application with the grade-specific TDS.
Free samples: 5–10 kg. Trial orders: minimum 25 kg. Regular production: minimum 1,000 kg. The customer pays shipping costs.
Jinsu has not completed UL Yellow Card certification. TDS data and UL94 test results do not constitute UL recognition. If your project requires a Yellow Card, verify certification for the exact grade before approval or purchase.

Storage & Handling
Recommended handling: keep pellets sealed, dry and protected from contamination. For SA FR, use the datasheet drying reference of 80°C for 2-4 hours before molding, and confirm the selected grade handling instructions.

Product Overview
Flame-retardant ABS is intended for molded parts that need a specified flame performance alongside practical impact strength and flow. The supplied SA FR datasheet lists industrial applications, electronic and electrical appliances, and battery housings, with natural and standard black colors.
For the SA FR reference grade, the typical values include density 1.20 g/cm³, melt flow rate 18 g/10 min at 260°C/2.16 kg, tensile strength 47 MPa and flexural modulus 2300 MPa. The flame rating is shown as UL94 V-0 at 2.0 mm. These are grade-specific typical values; they are not a blanket specification for every flame-retardant ABS formulation, color or thickness.
The molding guide preserves the separate nozzle and barrel-zone temperatures from the datasheet. Adjust the trial settings to the machine, mold and part. Share your target rating, minimum wall thickness, color, mechanical requirements and certification needs so we can discuss the appropriate grade and supporting documents.
Applications in Detail
Electronic & Electrical Appliances
SA FR is listed for electronic and electrical appliance applications. Confirm the required flame rating, tested thickness and color together with mechanical and assembly requirements; do not apply a rating from one thickness to an untested part.
Battery Housings
Battery housings are a listed application in the SA FR datasheet. Treat the grade as a candidate and validate the complete housing design, operating conditions and applicable product requirements before approval.
Industrial Molded Parts
For industrial parts with screw bosses, consider the documented crack-resistance feature alongside the actual boss geometry, fastener and assembly load. Run molding and assembly trials for the intended design.
Frequently Asked Questions
What flame rating is shown for SA FR?
SA FR has a UL94 V-0 rating at a test thickness of 2.0 mm.
Does a V-0 result mean the grade has a UL Yellow Card?
No. A reported UL94 result is not itself UL recognition. Jinsu has not completed UL Yellow Card certification. If your application requires a Yellow Card, verify the exact grade certification before approval or purchase.
How should SA FR be dried and processed?
The datasheet recommends drying at 80°C for 2-4 hours. Its reference temperatures are 210-220°C at the nozzle and front barrel, 200-210°C in the middle barrel, 190-210°C in the rear barrel and 30-40°C at the mold. Adjust settings for the actual part, machine and mold.
Which colors are listed, and can other grades be discussed?
SA FR is listed in natural and standard black. For another color or different mechanical, flow or flame requirements, contact us to discuss grade selection or a custom formulation. Confirm the selected grade properties and test results before purchase.
