1. ABS for Automotive Interior Trim

ABS, with its excellent surface gloss, good processability, and cost-effectiveness, is one of the most commonly used plastic materials for automotive interior trim — dashboard trims, door handles, AC vents, center console panels, and more. Heat-resistant ABS meets automotive interior temperature requirements (Vicat ≥105°C), widely replacing more expensive PC/ABS alloys at lower cost. PA6+GF30 combines high strength (tensile ≥170 MPa), high heat resistance (HDT ≥200°C), and excellent oil resistance — making it a key metal replacement option. Compared to PA66, PA6 offers lower processing temperatures (230-280°C vs 260-300°C), less mold wear, and 20-30% lower raw material cost. **Recommended Grades:** • PA6+GF30 — Tensile ≥170MPa, HDT >200°C, best choice for engine covers • PA66+GF30 — Higher rigidity (flexural modulus 9000-10000 MPa) for extreme-temperature applications

3. PC for Headlight Lenses & Covers

Polycarbonate (PC), with its ultra-high light transmission (≥88%), impact strength (Izod ≥60 kJ/m²), and heat resistance (HDT 125-135°C), has become the mainstream material for automotive headlight lenses and covers, fully replacing traditional glass. PC lenses weigh only 1/3 of glass, offer greater design freedom (complex curved surfaces), and provide better safety (no sharp fragments on breakage). Surface chemistry is optimized for adhesion with mainstream UV-curable hardcoats, preventing delamination after thermal cycling. 4. PMMA for Automotive Lighting Covers

PMMA (Acrylic), with its 92% ultra-high light transmission and excellent weatherability, holds an important position in optical-grade applications such as automotive taillight covers, DRL light guides, and dashboard transparent panels. Compared to PC, PMMA offers higher light transmission (92% vs 88%), better UV yellowing resistance, and higher surface hardness (scratch resistance), though impact strength is lower. PMMA is therefore better suited for lighting cover applications demanding high optical clarity but not primary load-bearing.
