Storage & Handling

FR PC is moisture and heat sensitive. Store sealed in dry environment. Must use desiccant drying. Avoid high-temperature storage.

Product Overview

Flame retardant PC (polycarbonate) combines the clarity, toughness and heat resistance of polycarbonate with UL94 V-0 flame performance at 1.5 mm (V-2 at 0.8 mm), and meets glow-wire requirements of GWIT 850°C and GWFI 960°C. With tensile strength of 55–65 MPa, izod impact of 60–70 kJ/m² and HDT of 120–130°C, it keeps its mechanical integrity in electrical and electronic applications where fire safety is mandatory.

Our FR PC is available in transparent, translucent and black pellets, and can be formulated for UV stability, making it suitable for outdoor charger housings, power strips, routers, laptops and e-cigarette shells. For markets with strict environmental regulations, Jinsu also offers a fluorine-free flame-retardant PC that complies with EU and US environmental requirements (RoHS/REACH). The compound is produced on dedicated lines with strict moisture control (≤0.02%) under ISO 9001 quality management.

Jinsu supplies FR PC factory-direct with free samples, low MOQ and global shipping. Contact us for flame retardant PC pricing, UL documentation support and a technical datasheet.

Applications in Detail

EV Charger & Power Strip Housings

Chargers, power strips and adapters operate close to mains voltage and can overheat under load. FR PC's V-0 rating stops flame spread, while its impact strength survives daily handling and its HDT of 120–130°C tolerates heat buildup. For outdoor charging stations, our UV-stabilized formulation prevents yellowing and embrittlement.

Router, Laptop & Electronics Housings

Consumer electronics enclosures need a balance of flame safety, thin-wall flow and cosmetic finish. FR PC delivers V-0 performance in thin sections, excellent surface quality and the dimensional stability that precise snap-fit and ventilation designs require.

Outdoor Electrical & Telecom Enclosures

Meters, junction boxes and outdoor telecom equipment face sun, rain and temperature swings. Our weatherable FR PC formulations resist UV degradation and maintain flame rating and mechanical properties over years of outdoor service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What flame rating does FR PC achieve?

Our FR PC is rated UL94 V-0 at 1.5 mm wall thickness and V-2 at 0.8 mm, and meets glow-wire requirements of GWIT 850°C and GWFI 960°C. If your part needs V-0 in thinner walls, tell us the target thickness and we will confirm the achievable rating. Fluorine-free FR PC is also available for markets with strict environmental regulations.

Is transparent flame-retardant PC available?

Yes. We offer transparent, translucent and black FR PC. Transparency grade may reduce to a translucent level at V-0 depending on wall thickness; we can supply samples to verify optical and flame performance together.

Why must FR PC be dried before molding?

Polycarbonate degrades in the presence of moisture above about 0.02%, causing silver streaks, brittleness and reduced mechanical properties. Dry at 120°C for 4–6 hours with a desiccant dryer and avoid excessive residence time in the barrel.

Do you support UL certification for our product?

We provide material data sheets, test reports and documentation to support your UL and OEM approval processes. Share your target standard and we will confirm the matching grade.
